"la voz áspera de la ternura" has been silenced--Chavela Vargas has died.

i arrived at work and was sitting in the parking lot gathering myself for the ordeal when the BBC Radio announcer reported that Chavela Vargas has passed away.  now, i'm really going to be depressed at work. 

first, Nina, then it was Celia, now...Chavela.  *sigh*
