i believe this sums up how books in 'cultural studies' get written.  the phrase "monological imperatives" is interesting because i'm very impressed with young Calvin because it seems to me that he is referencing the literary theories of Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin.

back on rotation at the hospital and all hell broke loose. i do pray for boring, routine patients.

anyhoo.  before coming to work, i stopped by the naughty-neighbor's house.  he kept playing "peek-a-peen."  i've seen enough peen to not lose my senses whenever i see peen.  he's the same age as me, but he's behaving like a 4 year-old.  he's failing to appreciate that we are looking for different things.  he'll have better luck, i think, at the ramble-at-the-lake or at the pickle-park out on the interstate.
